Mira-Bhayandar: To instill a sense of statutory values and promote awareness of the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has geared up to intensify its efforts towards the success of ‘Ghar Ghar Samvidhan’ (constitution in every home)- a special initiative which had been launched by the government to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution.

This was revealed by municipal commissioner-Radhabinod A. Sharma during his interaction with media-persons at the main administrative building of the MBMC in Bhayandar on Tuesday.

“Apart from instructing all heads of departments (HoD) and other officials to prominently display the framed copies of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution in their chambers by duly adhering to protocols, we are planning to distribute Preambles to every school student for them to take it home as a visual reminder of the nation’s founding principles and goals. Also, Preambles will be given away along with environmentally friendly tree saplings at all municipal functions and ceremonies.” said Sharma adding that the Constitution is the most respected book of our country which not only enhances constitutional knowledge but also nurtures a deeper sense of social justice, unity and national pride.

The initiative toes the lines of the government resolution (GR) issued by the state, which stresses upon the importance of helping students understand their fundamental rights and responsibilities as citizens.

Additionally, the government has mandated that all local self-government meetings start with the reading of the Preamble- a practice that extends to state assembly sessions, further integrating the Constitution into daily governance and civic activities.
