Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A girl pursuing her MBA from a private college in the city was stabbed multiple times by a youth, who was harassing her for the past few days, as she had stopped talking with him, in the Sanwer area on Thursday.
The girl was at her maternal uncle’s place at the time of the incident. The accused was caught by the police and s being questioned further.
DSP (Headquarters) Umakant Chowdhary informed Free Press that the 24-year-old girl, a resident of Chandrawatiganj, came to her maternal uncle’s place in Sanwer. She was standing outside the house when the accused came there and attacked her with a knife following an argument between them.
The girl received injuries on her neck, hand, leg and other parts of the body. After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. However, he was detained by the police area within a few hours of the stabbing.
The girl is critically injured and is undergoing treatment in a city hospital and her condition is stated to be out of danger.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl and accused Aman Sheikh, a resident of Kshipra area, were in the same college in Sanwer and then they were friends but the girl had stopped talking to him over some issue.
The accused was forcing the girl to talk with him as she had stopped doing so but when she refused to yield the accused attacked her three to four times using a knife. The accused is being questioned further.
