In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the mastermind of the horrific terrorist attack on tourists has been identified. According to intelligence reports, Saifullah Kasuri, commander of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and close to Hafiz Saeed, is behind the attack. Kasuri has the patronage of Pakistan Army and the intelligence agency ISI there.
Who is Saifullah Kasuri?
Saifullah Sajid Jatt alias Saifullah Kasuri is a resident of Shangmanga village in Punjab province of Pakistan. The National Investigation Agency of India (NIA) has already declared him a “staunch terrorist”. He is currently the deputy chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba and stays in Islamabad and conducts terrorist activities. Kasuri often takes the cover of religious and social work to hide her terrorist identity.
Pahalgam attack conspiracy
According to intelligence sources, the Pahalgam attack was fully planned. The attackers had already raked the spot several days in advance. Kasuri is a leading planner of terrorist activities of Lashkar and TRF (The Resistance Front) in Jammu and Kashmir. Currently, two terrorists from Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) are also under investigation.
Kasuri’s history in terrorism
Saifullah Kasuri joined Lashkar-e-Taiba in the early 2000s and was trained in Pakistan. He has a long experience of terrorist activities. Kasuri has a direct contact with Hafiz Saeed, which greatly increased its influence. He has been active in Poonch-Rajouri sector and PoK in India.
Terrorist organizations are using the names of new organizations like TRF and PAFF to hide their identity, so that Pakistan does not face direct accusations.
Search operation intensified after attack
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at least 26 tourists were killed and more than 20 injured in this attack in the Bisran Valley of Pahalgam.
