The Master Plan for Bhopal and Indore, yet to be presented to CM
The Master Plan for Bhopal and Indore was yet to be presented to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Vijayvargiya held a meeting over the Master Plan of Indore. Proposals for some amendments in the draft also figured in the discussion.
The draft of Bhopal Master is ready with the Urban Development. So, when it is presented to Yadav, there will be some amendments in it.
Afterwards, the draft Master Plan for Bhopal and Indore will be published. When the new government was formed last year, Vijayvargiya cancelled the draft Master Plan.
The committee for the Master Plan was reformed in August last year
Vijayvargiya told the department to prepare the Master Plan according to the requirements of 2047 instead of 2031. The deadline for preparing the Master Plan was December 31 last year. The committee for the Master Plan was reformed in August last year.
Bhopal and Indore to be metropolitan cities
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Bhopal and Indore would be developed into metropolitan cities.
According to the CM’s announcement, a few nearby areas of Bhopal and those of Indore would be added to these cities to develop them into metros.
Nevertheless, the government is in a dilemma over whether the draft Master Plan of both the cities will be according to the metropolitan city or it will be released before that happens.
If some areas of Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha and Rajgarh are added to Bhopal, it will take time to prepare the Master Plan for the state capital.
Similarly, if some areas of Dhar, Dewas, and Ujjain are included in Indore, it will take a long time to get the Master Plan of the city ready.
