A massive fire broke out on the set of Dhanush’s upcoming film Idly Kadai on Sunday in Anuppapatti village, located in the Andipatti block of Tamil Nadu. The cause of the blaze is yet to be officially determined.

The film, also directed and co-produced by actor Dhanush, had already wrapped its shoot at the Anuppapatti location prior to the incident. The cast and crew members were not present on the set.

According to ANI, no injuries have been reported. A horrifying video of the fire has surfaced on social media. Take a look:

Idly Kadai is slated for release later this year. Further details about the extent of the damage or losses incurred due to the fire are awaited.

Dhanush had announced the film in September 2024. It is his fourth directorial and 52nd film as an actor. The first poster of the film showed a roadside shack against a starry night. A shopkeeper is seen sitting inside a shop while another man watches him.

The film’s music is composed by GV Prakash, while Kiran Koushik does the cinematography. Produced under Dhanush’s home production banner Wunderbar Films and Aakash Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures, Idly Kadai is being edited by Prasanna GK.

The actor was last seen in the Tamil film Raayan. Besides Idly Kaday, Dhanush has Kubera with Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh.

Kubera is set to be a pan-India multilingual venture, shot in both Tamil and Telugu.

The actor will also be seen in Tere Ishk Mein with Kriti Sanon and in another yet-untitled film.
