India’s auto industry saw steady growth in March 2025, with key manufacturers posting strong sales figures. Maruti Suzuki crossed 2 million annual sales for the second year in a row, while Hyundai Creta led the SUV segment in Q1 FY24-25. Honda Cars India sold 1,26,151 units for the fiscal year, and Kia India reported a 19.3% growth with 25,525 units in March. MG Motor India also saw a 9% year-on-year rise, while Hyundai Motor India retained its position as the country’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 1,92,984 units in March 2025, including 1,53,134 units sold in the domestic market, 6,882 units supplied to other OEMs, and 32,968 units exported. For the financial year 2024-25, the company achieved its highest-ever annual sales of 22,34,266 units, with record-breaking domestic sales of 17,95,259 units and exports reaching an all-time high of 3,32,585 units. This milestone highlights Maruti Suzuki’s strong market presence and growing demand for its vehicles in both Indian and global markets.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) posted total sales of 7,62,052 units in FY 2024-25, with domestic sales accounting for 5,98,666 units and exports contributing 1,63,386 units. In March 2025 alone, the company recorded 67,320 units in total sales, including 51,820 units in the domestic market and 15,500 units shipped overseas. This marks a 2.6% increase compared to the same month last year, reinforcing Hyundai’s steady growth in both domestic and international markets.

Tata Motors reported total sales of 2,52,642 units in the domestic and international markets during Q4 FY 2024-25, slightly lower than the 2,65,090 units recorded in the same period last year. In the domestic market, the company sold 90,500 units in March 2025, maintaining stable performance compared to 90,822 units in March 2024. However, overall domestic sales for the quarter stood at 2,45,891 units, reflecting a 5% decline from Q4 FY 2023-24. For the full financial year, Tata Motors sold 9,12,155 units in India, marking a 4% dip compared to the previous fiscal.

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) reported total sales of 1,26,151 units in FY 2024-25, showing a slight increase from 1,24,173 units in the previous financial year. The company sold 65,925 units in the domestic market, while exports reached 60,226 units. In March 2025 alone, HCIL recorded 7,228 units in domestic sales and shipped 4,656 units overseas, reinforcing its steady presence in both local and international markets.

The company also saw a steady rise in quarterly sales, reaching 75,576 units—up 15.6% from the previous year. For the full fiscal year, Kia India recorded 2,55,207 unit sales, marking a 4% year-on-year increase, while exports stood at 26,892 units, strengthening its global presence.

The MG Windsor, recognized as India’s best-selling electric vehicle, set a new sales record in March, further strengthening its position in the market.
