Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the Celerio with enhanced safety features, making six airbags standard across all variants. Alongside this update, the hatchback has undergone a price revision, with hikes of up to Rs 32,500 depending on the variant. The top-end ZXi+ variant sees the highest increase, while the VXi trims have become dearer by Rs 21,000.
The entry-level LXi variant has also received a price hike of Rs 27,500. With this move, Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen the Celerio’s appeal by prioritizing safety, aligning it with evolving market expectations.
Maruti Suzuki has revised the pricing of the Celerio following the introduction of enhanced safety features. Most variants have received a price hike, with the top-spec ZXi+ trims seeing the highest increase of Rs 32,500. The LXi MT and ZXi MT variants have gone up by Rs 27,500, while the VXi trims now cost up to Rs 21,000 more. The CNG-powered VXi variant has seen a smaller revision of Rs 16,000. With these changes, the Celerio’s price now starts at ₹5.64 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.37 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite the increase, the updated model aims to offer improved safety while remaining an affordable choice in the hatchback segment.
In another news, Maruti Suzuki’s Made-in-India Jimny 5-Door has officially debuted in Japan, marking a key milestone for the brand’s global expansion. Originally showcased at Auto Expo 2023, the off-roader is exclusively manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gurugram facility. It has already been exported to nearly 100 countries and has emerged as the company’s second most-exported model for FY 2024-25.
The Jimny 5-Door is available in seven color options, offering both monotone and dual-tone choices. The dual-tone variants, Kinetic Yellow with a Black Roof and Sizzling Red with a Black Roof, add a bold contrast to its rugged design. With its arrival in Japan, the SUV joins the Fronx as the second model to be shipped to Suzuki’s home market this fiscal year, further strengthening India’s role as a key production hub.
