Controversy has arisen after a video of a female professor ‘marriage’ by a female professor at a government university in West Bengal. An inquiry has been ordered on Wednesday regarding this incident. However, the professor claims that it was only a play, which was part of his subject’s studies.
What is the whole matter?
This case is related to the Psychology Department of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Makaut) in Nadia district. In the viral video, the professor was seen decorated like a bride, while a student of the first year also performed the customs of Hindu Bengali wedding like ‘Sindoor Daan’ and ‘Mala Badal’.
The controversy increased as soon as the video surfaced. After this, the university administration formed a three -member inquiry committee and sought clarification from the professor.
What does the professor say?
The professor told the university administration that it was only a ‘psycho-drama’, which was part of his course and there is nothing real in it. He claims that the video was recorded only for departmental purpose, but someone leaked it.
He alleged that a conspiracy has been conspired to deliberately leak it and tarnish his image. He says that she will file a complaint with the police against those who are making this video viral.
University Administration Stance
Makaut acting Vice Chancellor Tapas Chakraborty said,
“The professor has clarified that it was a part of his subject studies and the video was not for external spread.”
He said that a committee of three women faculty members of other departments has been formed to investigate the case. The professor has been sent on leave until the investigation is completed.
Professor cleaning
In a conversation with India Today, the professor said,
“It was part of a project set up for the fosters party, which is being incorrectly shown. A conspiracy has been hatched to discredit me, and I will file a police complaint against those leaking this video. ”
Now it has to be seen what conclusion the university’s inquiry committee concludes in this matter and what action the administration takes.
