On Yudhishthira, Lord Krishna told him the importance of Kamada Ekadashi fast of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. According to the legend- King Pundarik was ruled in the state of Bhogipur. There was no shortage of money and opulence in his kingdom. In Bhogipur, a young man and a young woman named Lalita and Lalita lived and both of them loved each other. Lalit was a singer. Once when he was singing in the court of King Pundarik, he got distracted by seeing Lalita and his voice deteriorated.
This made King Pundarik angry and in anger he cursed Lalit to become a demon. Due to the influence of the curse, the fine demon became and his body spread to eight worlds. The curse made Lalit’s life unhappy. On the other hand, Lalita also started feeling bad. One day Lalita wandered to the Vindhyachal mountain. There was an ashram of sage Shringi. She went to the ashram and paid tribute to the sage Shringi.

When the sage Shringi asked Lalita the reason for her arrival, she started crying bitterly. Rishi Shringi asked Lalita to observe the fast of Kamada Ekadashi of Chaitra Shukla Paksha and worship Lord Vishnu. The sage said, “Break the fast and donate this fast to Lalita.” Due to the effect of virtue, he will be freed from the demonic world.
Lalita did the same. He kept a fast by law and worshiped Lord Vishnu and after Parana, he donated holy fruits to Lalita. By the grace of Lord Vishnu, Lalit got freedom from the demon vagina. Thus both Lalita and Lalita started living lovingly and after death they attained heaven.
