In yet another major bureaucratic reshuffle, the state government transferred six departmental secretaries on Thursday, with the big names among these being Milind Mhaiskar and B Venugopal Reddy.

In another important development, Harshdeep Kamble, who had earlier been appointed the general manager of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) has now been posted as the principal secretary of the social justice department. It means the BEST will get a new GM. The crucial civic undertaking remains headless after the transfer of the erstwhile GM Anil Diggikar.

On December 24, Pune District Collector Suhas Diwase, who had raised objections over the protocol issues of the sacked LAS officer Pooja Khedkar, has been promoted and appointed the settlement commissioner and director of land records in Pune.

Additional Chief Secretary (Public Health) Milind Mhaiskar is being shifted to the forest department, with the incumbent, B Venugopal Reddy to assume a similar role in the higher and technical education department. The current head of the higher and technical education department, Vikas Chandra Rastogi, will now be the principal secretary in the department of agriculture.

The principal secretary of the school education department, I A Kundan, is being shifted to the labour department. The current head of the labour department, Vinita Ved Singhal, will be the principal secretary of the department of environment and climate change. Project Director Nipun Vinayak, RUSA (higher and technical education department), will be the new public health department secretary.

The managing director of the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation, Jayashree Bhoj, will take over as the secretary of the food and civil supplies department. H S Sonawane has been appointed as the commissioner of sports and youth services, Pune. The CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad, Santosh Patil, has been appointed the district collector of Satara, while the incumbent, Jitendra Dudi, will be the new district collector Pune.
