Madhya Pradesh: Manpower Crunch Has SISF Seeking Fresh Recruitment Of Jawans | Canva

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The State Industrial Security Force (SISF), which was formed to provide security to industries and organisations in Madhya Pradesh, has sought the recruitment of 2,000 jawans, for which a proposal has been sent to the state government for approval.  Once approved, this recruitment, in addition to the sanctioned force of 2,000, will double the personnel in the SISF.

The SISF has also requested a separate recruitment process, and a proposal has been sent to the government for approval. An official said on Thursday that several private and government organisations are demanding security personnel.

This demand has increased manifold since the Global Investors’ Summit held in February this year. However, the SISF isn’t able to keep up with the demand. Lack of personnel has also put the brakes on the signing of new MoUs.

It is noteworthy that the SISF is probably the only force in the state that has earned its entire expenses in ten years and has also deposited Rs 118 crore in the government coffers. Facing this manpower crunch, the SISF has sent a proposal for the recruitment of jawans, on which the state government has to take a decision.

Effective system, but requires manpower

Currently, a force of 2,000 is approved for the SISF, out of which 750 sanctioned posts are lying vacant. Out of the 1,250 staff in the SISF, except 150 reserve staff as per the rules, the remaining 1,040 security personnel are deployed in different institutions and industries.

ADG SISF, Anil Kumar, said they are unable to meet the demand of security personnel due to a lack of manpower. He said the state government formed the SISF on the lines of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to provide armed police security to the industries, private sector banks, financial institutions, and private companies in the state.

This SISF system works for both a big industry and a small bank branch, as it provides security personnel as per the requirement on daily or annual rates, while the CISF provides at least 100 security personnel at a time.
