Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi described the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh as a big personal loss. He said that Dr. Manmohan Singh was a friend, guide and philosopher for him. The Congress Party and the citizens of India will always be proud and grateful that the country got such a leader who made incomparable contributions to India’s progress and development. Dr. Singh died on Thursday night. He was 92 years old. During his tenure as Prime Minister (2004-2014), Sonia Gandhi was the head of Congress and UPA.
Sonia Gandhi’s condolence message
Sonia Gandhi said in her condolence message, “Dr. With the demise of Manmohan Singh, we have lost a leader who was an epitome of wisdom, nobility and humility. He served the country with all his heart and mind. He was like a beam of light for Congress. His compassion and vision empowered the lives of millions of Indians.” Sonia Gandhi also said that Dr Singh held a special place in the hearts of Indians because of his pure heart and extraordinary intelligence.

Sonia Gandhi noted that leaders and scholars across the world praised Dr. Manmohan Singh. His suggestions, wisdom and ideas were in great demand not only in India but also globally. He was respected as a great leader. Sonia Gandhi said, “Dr. Singh displayed unmatched talent and excellence in every position he held. He brought respect and glory to India at the international level.”

Sonia Gandhi said that Dr. Manmohan Singh had a deep commitment to social justice, secularism and democratic values. To spend time with him was to be inspired by his wisdom, honesty and humility. He said, “Dr. Singh has left a void in our national life that can never be filled. His honesty and integrity made him extremely popular among the public.”

Sonia Gandhi also said that Congress and the country will always be grateful for his contribution. During his tenure, India achieved many important achievements. He not only faced every challenge with determination, but also set an example of leadership with his calm and gentle behavior.
