On the demise of the former PM, Anupam paid tribute to him and said that he is currently out of the country and is deeply saddened by the demise of Manmohan Singh. He said, ‘Dr. I have been with Manmohan Singh for one and a half years. Studying everything from their character to their behaviour. When an actor plays a character he studies his physical appearance, but to play a character correctly one has to go inside that person. Dr. Manmohan Singh was a gentleman, brilliant and intelligent and humble person.

Anupam said that earlier when I was offered this film, I had refused for many reasons. It was also rejected for political reasons. But I thought that if I did this role, people would say that I did this film to make fun of them. But if I had to choose 3-4 characters from my life, this character would definitely be one of them.
He further said that his best quality was his hearing power. During his tenure there were incidents which were controversial. But he was also honest as a person and worked a lot for the country’s economy.

Anupam said that when he was doing ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, he managed to incorporate most of the aspects of Manmohan Singh’s personality into his character, but one thing was a little difficult. When the film was finally made, I was very happy that I could do justice to the character. The subject of the film may have been controversial, but not the person.
Anupam paid tribute to Manmohan Singh by mentioning his iconic blue turban and said, ‘I will miss the man with the blue turban a lot. Today the country has lost a true human being and a great leader.

Former PM of India Manmohan Singh died in AIIMS Hospital, Delhi. He died at AIIMS at 9:51 pm on Thursday night. He was admitted to AIIMS after becoming unconscious on Thursday evening. Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh was facing health related problems for a long time. Even before this, he was admitted to the hospital several times due to health related reasons.
