A man attempted to kill his wife by stabbing her several times with a pair of scissors in the Bajajnagar area in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Wednesday. The accused husband has been identified as Rishikesh Bhakaji Khaire (Somnath, Jalgaon, Jalna) and is a habitual drunkard.
According to the details, the victim, Komal from Badnapur in Jalna district, was married to Rishikesh in 2017. He runs a grocery shop in the Bajajnagar area but is a habitual drunkard and used to spend all his earnings on drinking. His wife, Komal, tried to convince him to stop drinking and look after the family, which led to frequent quarrels. He used to severely beat her during these arguments.
On Wednesday morning, Rishikesh came home in an inebriated condition. Komal tried to convince him to give up drinking. They had a quarrel, and in a fit of rage, Rishikesh stabbed Komal with a pair of scissors several times. He fled from the scene after the incident, and nearby residents Ganga Bewale, Anjali Gaikwad, and others rushed the injured Komal to a private hospital.
FIR Lodged
Based on the complaint lodged by Komal’s brother Sachin Kharat (Naregaon), a case has been registered with the Waluj MIDC police station, and the police are further investigating the case.
Sachin mentioned in his complaint that his brother-in-law Rishikesh is a habitual drunkard and always used to beat his sister whenever she tried to convince him to give up drinking. He had warned his sister Komal to be cautious of Rishikesh, Sachin mentioned.
