A tragic incident has been reported from Khor village under Badosari Police Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district, where a young man, allegedly distressed by harassment from his in-laws, died by suicide this morning.
Sudheer Kumar, 25, before taking the extreme step, posted pictures captured during his court marriage with his wife, along with their marriage certificate, in a Facebook post captioned “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” (Our Incomplete Story).
Sudheer Kumar, whose body was found hanging from a tree, left a two-page suicide note. In the note, he held his in-laws responsible for his death.
According to the suicide note, Sudheer had been in a relationship with the girl for the last four years. He lived with the girl and her brother Ayush while continuing his studies. During that time, the girl’s family was unaware of the relationship between the two.
However, the girl’s brother-in-law (sister’s husband) discovered their love story. He then informed the girl’s family about the entire matter. After that, the girl was prohibited from leaving the house or speaking to Sudheer.
Sudheer said in the note that on girl’s instance, two got married in court.
In his suicide note, Sudheer clearly wrote that their love story remained incomplete due to the girl’s family. After writing the note, he made a post on Facebook, where he shared pictures with the girl and their court marriage certificate. Along with the post, he wrote “Our incomplete story” before hanging himself from a tree on the outskirts of the village.
Sudheer has alleged that his wife, her mother, and brother had asked him to die.
When villagers spotted Sudheer’s body hanging from a mango tree in the fields outside the village, panic spread among them. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, brought the body down, and identified it as that of Sudhir Sahu, son of Mayaram.
Kotwali Badosarai in-charge Santosh Kumar stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway.
