Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 27-year-old woman was raped by a person on pretext of marriage at a private hotel, Hanumanganj police said here on Thursday. Police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh said a woman resident of Vidisha District was raped by Shivam Raghuwanshi on September 21 in a private hotel in the city.
A few months back, the victim was searching for a job in Indore, where she met the accused. They later went into a relationship. He further said that the victim used to come to Bhopal to meet him.
The accused raped her multiple times on pretext of their marriage. Then he called her at a private hotel saying that he would discuss their marriage but raped her on promise of fixing it. He added that a few days later the accused told her that his family members are against their marriage, so he will never meet her again.
After disputes, she filed a complaint against him late Wednesday night. Police are now searching to nab the accused and further probe is underway.
71-year-old goes missing
A 71-year-old man went missing from his house on Tuesday, Chhola Mandir police said here on Thursday. Police station in-charge Suresh Chandra Nagar told Free Press that Kishore Sahu (71) has been missing since Tuesday from his house. His son Ravi, filed a missing complaint late Wednesday night.
Nagar added that police came across a CCTV footage in which Kishore is seen going towards their new under-construction house in Damkheda near Ayodhya Nagar Bypass but cannot be seen coming back. Police inspected the site but did not find any clue and further investigation is underway.
