‘No One Wants To Stop At Signal’_ Man Posts Dashcam Video Of Blatant Traffic Rule Violations In Pune |
Pune and traffic jams is the unending debate. Along with its traffic, the city continues to make headlines due to traffic rule violations, bikers refusing to wear helmets, and jumping signals.
Now, a man took to X and posted a video taken by his car’s dashcam, showing rampant signal jumping in Pune.
He posted the video from Wagholi, where people were seen jumping the red light, and wrote, “Another fresh example of today’s ‘Blatant Violation of Traffic Rules in Pune. Just a few hours back at BJS Wagholi. No one wants to stop at the signal…”
He also tagged the Pune Commissioner of Police and traffic police. His video was posted in reply to another video, where a biker crashes into a car after blindly attempting to take a right turn from the extreme left lane while checking his phone and riding without a helmet.
Pune and signals
Meanwhile, the city’s traffic department has taken action to reduce gridlock on Ahmednagar Road between Kharadi and Wagholi by allowing vehicles to flow without signals.
As per the information by Amol Zende, DCP (Traffic), Shastrinagar, Wadgaonsheri, Viman Nagar (Phoenix Mall), and Kharadi dargha signals have all seen the implementation of the scheme. Amitesh Kumar, the police commissioner, met with local public representatives and senior city commissionerate officials on Saturday to discuss the adjustments.
These changes are being implemented on an experimental basis and pilot project basis.
