Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old homeopathic doctor was shot dead at his clinic in Indore’s Kundan Nagar area. Three masked men entered the clinic under the pretense of seeking treatment and later returned to commit the crime, said the police.
According to Rajendra Nagar police, the incident occurred on Friday night. The accused entered the clinic pretending to have a cold and even paid a consultation fee of ₹450. After receiving their medicine, they left.
Also, ACP Rubina Mizvani confirmed that the doctor was shot once.
However, they returned a few minutes later with their faces partially covered and shot doctor Sahu in the chest and fled the scene on a bike.
Victim recognised one of the accused
Doctor Sahu was rushed to Sankalp Hospital and later referred to Unique Hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead by the doctors.
During interrogation, Sahu’s compounder Deepak, informed that the attackers initially came for treatment but returned with weapons. They demanded cash and valuables.
The threatened Sahu handed over his wallet and ATM card. Later he recognized one of the attackers and tried to talk with them. He said, “I know you, let’s talk,” but the assailants shot him and fled.
Doctor received a phone call the same evening
The police tracked a phone number used to call the doctor earlier that evening, which belonged to a factory worker named Tiwari. He revealed that two individuals had borrowed his phone to make the call.
The police are also investigating connections to private hospitals in Rau and Mhow, as Dr. Sahu reportedly referred some patients to his clinic from these areas. Additionally, the compounder works at a private pathology lab, raising further questions about any professional rivalry or personal enmity.
