Man, Mom-In-Law Booked For Wife’s Dowry Death
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man and his mother were booked by Pardesipura police for the dowry death of his 19-year-old wife. The newly married woman ended her life by hanging herself at her place after her husband and mother-in-law harassed her physically & mentally over dowry on August 1.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Chandni, wife of Ravi, a resident of Sarvahara Nagar. The couple was married around 6 months prior to the incident.
ACP Pardesipura Shivendu Joshi investigated the case and informed Free Press that after recording statements of family members of the deceased, it came to light that the deceased’s husband Ravi and mother-in-law Sangeeta were demanding money and a motorcycle from her.
They harassed her physically and mentally and suspected her of infidelity, leading her to end her life. The police registered a case against the husband and mother-in-law under sections 80(2), 85 of the BNS and 3/4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.
Engineer Booked For Worker’s Death By Electrocution
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An engineer was booked for negligence resulting in the death of his worker by electrocution, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred on April 7 when the deceased suffered electric shock while working with a motor cable which had a cut, resulting in his death.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Durgesh Yadav, a native of Betul. The investigating officer ASI Devendra Singh Sengar said that during the investigation, statements of witnesses Hemraj, Prakash Deshmukh, PawanBarde and Santosh were taken and it was found that due to the negligence of engineer Krishna Yadav, deceased Durgesh was made to work despite there being a cut in the motor cable and necessary safety equipment was not provided to him for his work, leading to his death by electrocution.
TV Mechanic Electrocuted To Death While Working
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A TV mechanic was electrocuted to death while repairing a television at his house in Tilak Nagar police station area on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Jitendra, a resident of Piplyahana. His family members said that Jitendra was a TV mechanic and had brought deteriorated TV coils to his house for repair. During work, he got an electric shock, resulting in his death.
4 Injured In Stabbing Over Money Dispute, Cross FIR Registered
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Four people from two groups were injured in a stabbing incident arising from a money dispute in the Hira Nagar police station area late on Saturday night.
The police registered a cross FIR of attempted murder against both the parties. The altercation occurred in Gori Nagar around 11 pm involving a catering businessman and an event manager over an outstanding amount of Rs 2 lakh.
Hira Nagar police station in-charge PL Sharma said that the injured individuals have been identified as Dinesh Vishwakarma, Jagbeer aka Jaggu Vishwakarma and Rajendra from one group while Prashant Chourasiya from another group.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred due to an ongoing money dispute between both parties and further investigation is underway. The police registered a case of attempted murder against people of both parties under relevant sections of BNS.
