In a shocking incident from Chinchwad area in Pune, an eight-year-old boy was kidnapped by his acquaintances with the intention of selling him for Rs 50,000.
As per ABP Majha report, the accused, who was abducting the boy from Chinchwad directly to Chalisgaon after his parents had gone out for work, has been caught with the help of Chinchwad Police and the Railway Protection Force. The police have handed over the eight-year-old boy to his parents.
The accused has been identified as Gajanan Panpatil (25), resident of Motala in Buldhana district . A few days ago, the accused had asked the boy’s mother to sell her eight-year-old son for Rs 50,000. However, when the boy’s mother refused, thus he kidnapped the boy. Now, the Chinchwad Police are investigating whether this accused is part of some gang.
According to the information provided by the police, the accused Gajanan Panpatil had come to Chinchwad four days ago. He used to visit the victim’s house frequently and would give the eight-year-old boy chocolates and biscuits, which made the boy fond of him. However, one day, the accused asked the child’s mother to sell her eight-year-old son. The woman categorically refused.
Child was taken to Chalisgaon
On March 31, after the husband and wife went to work, the accused, Gajanan Panpatil picked up the child and took him directly to Chalisgaon. After returning home, the child was not seen, which made the child’s parents suspicious. They informed the police about the incident. Chinchwad Police traced the accused through CCTV footage and other evidence. It was discovered that the accused had taken the child to Chalisgaon.
Chinchwad Police contacted Bhusawal Police, the Railway Protection Force, and Chalisgaon Police Station, sending the CCTV footage of Gajanan and the child while kidnapping. Finally, the accused was detained from the railway station in Chalisgaon. With the help of the Railway Protection Force, the accused was brought to Pimpri Chinchwad. After questioning him, it was found that he has two children of his own.
Chinchwad Police are investigating to whom he was going to hand over the kidnapped child or to whom he wanted to sell the eight-year-old child.
