Moradabad: An Aadhar card fraud racket was exposed in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad on Saturday, March 22, involving a man named Wajid Malik. As per reports, Malik, has been accused of running illegal operations from an Aadhar card correction center in the district’s Bilari area.

The incident came to light after local resident Vijay Kumar, filed a complaint with the police regarding the scam. Kumar, who had visited Malik’s Aadhar center, claimed that he demanded Rs 3,000 for making corrections to his Aadhar card.

What Exactly Happened?

As per reports by local publications, Malik immediately took Rs 2,700 from Kumar to make corrections to his Aadhar card. After receiving the money, he sent Kumar to another shop located a short distance away, where several other individuals were already waiting. These individuals were discussing financial transactions related to Aadhar card services, with amounts ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 2,000.

Kumar grew suspicious when he saw his Aadhar card being discarded into a dustbin. He was further alarmed when he noticed a digital thumb impression system being used at the center. When Kumar began questioning the individuals about the process, they became defensive and started arguing with him. The situation quickly escalated, prompting him to record the incident on his phone. As tensions mounted, Kuamr also contacted the police for assistance.

Police Probed Into the Case

In response to the complaint, local police arrived at the scene, where they recovered several documents reportedly linked to the fraudulent activities. These documents are currently under investigation.

The viral video of the incident sparked a strong reaction on social media, with some users alleging that Malik, the owner of the center, is a wroker of the Samajwadi Party.

Several users also claimed that Malik had previously been arrested in a similar case but he was later released. However, these allegations have not been officially confirmed by the authorities.

The police have initiated a formal investigation into the matter, based on Kumar’s complaint. While no official statement has been issued regarding Malik’s political affiliations or his past criminal record, authorities are urging anyone who may have been affected by the fraud to come forward and assist in the investigation.
