Harbour Line suburban train services were disrupted on Tuesday evening after a man climbed onto an Overhead Equipment (OHE) pole at Wadala Road station. The incident occurred around 7:47 pm.

Authorities quickly noticed the individual and successfully turned off the OHE power supply to prevent any harm. Train movement on the Harbour Line was halted for nearly 33 minutes, from 7:47 pm to 8:20 pm, to ensure the person’s safety and facilitate his rescue.

According to Central Railway (CR) officials, the man is suspected to be mentally unwell. He was safely brought down from the pole and rescued.

The disruption caused temporary delays in suburban train services, inconveniencing commuters during peak evening hours. “Normal operations resumed after the rescue, and railway authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident” said an official.
