An X post shared by Ravi Honda where he recollected instances from his trip to Vietnam has gone viral on social media. Instead of listing down good memories from his holiday or giving netizens a visual treat, his post focused on what dulled his travel experience. Honda claimed that his encounter with a few North Indian tourists “ruined the experience” for him as they exhibited “bad behaviour”.

“North Indian tourists ruin the experience”

In his long post, Honda pointed out what he didn’t like about North Indian tourists during his Vietnam trip. He wrote that he mainly chose the international destination over Goa for a holiday to avoid North Indian tourists, who according to him “run the experience”.

“Goa has too many North Indian tourists and they ruin the experience. Even in Vietnam, the only bad behaviour was from North Indian tourists”, he wrote.

The X user noted that the said tourists didn’t adhere to queues at tourist attractions. He also wrote that a group openly chanted “Bharat Mata ki jai” in excitement inside a train coach in Vietnam, which was believed to be quieter otherwise.

Netizens slam him for stereotyping North Indians

Netizens slammed him for stereotyping North Indians based on his travel experiences. They condemned his post by terming it “Uber racist”.

However, he replied to these reactions and said, “I am just sharing what I observed. I am a North Indian myself and have spent most of my life in Jaipur. I have also spent a fair bit of time in Kolkata and Bangalore. The behaviour by North Indians, specially tourists is a lot worse on average”.
