Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A youth was arrested in connection with theft at two places in the Juni Indore area on Thursday. Rs 1.14 lakh in cash and a scooter were recovered from him. Police claimed that the accused was arrested within a few hours after an FIR was filed.  

Additional DCP (zone-4) Anand Yadav informed Free Press that property dealer Gurunam Singh, a resident of Juni Indore area had lodged a complaint on Wednesday that his scooter was stolen from Triveni Colony a couple of days ago. Rs 60,000 and some documents were kept in the scooter’s dickey.  

On the same day, Kunal Ajneria, a resident of BK Sindhi Colony had lodged a complaint that thieves targeted his house and managed to flee with two mobile phones and Rs 54,000 from there. During the investigation of the spots, the police found that the thefts were committed by the same person. The police team searched the area and managed to arrest the accused named Abhishek alias Cheena, a resident of BK Harijan Colony. Police said that he has been booked 12 times for his involvement in different crimes in the city. On the lead given by the accused, police recovered a scooter, Rs 60,000 and two mobile phones and Rs 54,000 from him.  

Two held for stabbing, extorting money from two

Two youths were arrested for stabbing and extorting money from two persons in the Khajrana area on Thursday. They were also paraded at the crime scene. According to the police, Altaf and Nizam Dhanak, both residents of Khajrana area had lodged a complaint that they were stabbed by the two youths when they refused to give them money.

After registering a case, the police started a search. More than 50 CCTVs of the area were examined and the police arrested accused Sonu alia Arbaz and Salman alias Model. They had tried to flee after seeing the police. Later, they were taken to the crime scene where they apologised before the people for their act.
