Navi Mumbai: A man from Turbhe has been booked by Turbhe MIDC police after his neighbouring woman was injured while he attempted to assault his wife.
The incident happened on Sunday evening, while Dinesh Jaysing Chavan and hai wife Nasim (Swati) Chavan were fighting over some domestic issue.
According to police, while the couple was fighting, their neighbour Anita Manohar Singh (36), was standing nearby witnessing the fight. In a fit of rage, Chavan threw a wooden cutting board on his wife but it landed on the face of Singh instead.
“She started bleeding and she was taken to Vashi general hospital wherein the doctors told that she has fractured her nose and we were informed about it,” a police officer from Turbhe MIDC police station said.
Singh, originally from Nepal resided with her family in Ambedkar Nagar, Turbhe and was a neighbour of Chavans.
While chopping board hit Singh sonhard that the nasal bone was broken. Singh has now registered a case of assault against Chavan and the investigations are on.
However, the stick accidentally struck Anita Singh’s nose instead of his wife, causing her injuries. She was admitted to the municipal hospital in Vashi, where it was found that her nasal bone was fractured. Doctors have started her treatment.
Following this, Anita Singh filed a complaint at the Turbhe MIDC police station, leading to a case being filed against Dinesh Chavan, with further legal action now underway.
