Noida: A shocking incident surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida, where a man allegedly assaulted and dragged his neighbour’s pet for barking at his son on Wednesday. The 40-year-old man was arrested by the police. The incident took place in Greater Noida’s Dankaur area.

The man’s child went out to play on Wednesday when the German Shephard barked at him, reported The Times of India. The boy got scared and reportedly fell to the ground. He went back home crying. After hearing this, his father, Amit Sharma, came out running with a stick and assaulted the dog.

Sharma then tied the dog to his SUV and dragged the animal for around 10-12 km, reported TOI. The German Shepherd got critically injured. A complaint was lodged against Sharma by the dog’s owner, Sudhir Indoria.

The complainant claimed that it was Sharma’s son who first hit the animal with the stone. It got scared and jumped onto the child which led to his fall. At the time of the incident, Indoria and his family were inside their house.

“Sharma left our dog at the gate and sped away in his vehicle. I shouted at him, but he didn’t wait. I then took my dog to an animal hospital for medical treatment immediately,” Indoria told the media house.

A case has been registered against Sharma under relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
