Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man from Chandigarh was arrested for allegedly duping people of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs to them in foreign countries, police said on Friday.  

According to Additional DCP (crime) Rajesh Dandotiya, Neha, working as an assistant professor in a college had lodged a complaint that she had met a woman named Simran Verma through one of her acquaintances in 2019.

Simran had informed that she was working with a company that hired people for jobs in foreign countries. Later, Simran took an interview of the complainant over phone and gave training to her.

Later, she was offered a job to contact people for jobs in foreign countries. The complainant gave information of jobs to her 18 acquaintances and took money from them as she was told to do the same by Simran.

In different installments, she received 7 lakh from the people in her bank account and she later transferred the money to a bank account given by Simran.

When the people told them to give jobs, Neha talked Simran about the same but she didn’t give a satisfactory answer for the jobs. Later, a complaint was lodged with the crime branch. In this case, a person named Neeraj Kumar was arrested from Chandigarh and a search is on for Simran and others.
