“I am resigning from this post, Mahamandaleshwar Yamai Mamta Nandagiri. I was given this honor due to my 25 -year penance, but some people have problems with my becoming Mahamandaleshwar. Therefore, I am leaving this post now. “
In the video, he further explained that some saints and Shankaracharyas raised questions about his becoming Mahamandaleshwar. She said that she is a Sadhvi for the last 25 years and will remain on the path of renunciation even further.
Why did the dispute happen after becoming Mahamandaleshwar?
On 24 January 2025, six new Mahamandaleshwars were stalled by Kinnar Akhara at Mahakumbh, one of which was Mamta Kulkarni. During this time Mahamandaleshwar Swami Mahendranand Giri of Juna Akhara, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi of Kinnar Akhara, and other Mahamandaleshwar were also present. After this initiation, Mamta Kulkarni was given the new name of “Yamai Mamta Nand Giri”.
