In the evening, I feel like eating some tasty snacks with light hunger and tea. In such a situation, you can make crispy and spicy masala vada. It is liked by everyone from children to elders and it can be easily made from the ingredients present in the house. You can serve it with green chutney or coconut chutney.

If guests come to the house or you want to make some instant snacks, then the masala vada will be a perfect option. Let’s know the easy recipe to make it.

Materials required for making masala vada

1 cup gram dal
1 teaspoon fennel
1 small piece cinnamon
2 cloves
4 whole red chili
1 handful of hard leaf
Taste salt
1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
3-4 garlic buds
1 small piece ginger
3-4 green chillies (finely chopped)
Oil (to fry)

Method of making masala vada

Soak gram dal

  • Take 1 cup of gram dal, take out 2 teaspoons of lentils from it.
  • Wash the remaining lentils thoroughly and soak it for 2 hours.

Prepare the masala

  • Remove soaked gram lentils.
  • Grind fennel, cinnamon, cloves, red chili and salt in the mixer jar and grind it.
  • After this, grind the soaked lentils coarsely.

Prepare a mixture of vada

  • Add ground lentils to a bowl.
  • Now add onion, garlic, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Also, mix the whole lentils kept separately from before it so that the vadas become crunchy.

Make and fry

  • Now heat the oil in a pan.
  • Take a little mixture in the hand and shape small vadas.
  • Put it in oil and fry until golden brown.
  • Remove the vade on tissue paper so that excess oil is absorbed.

Method of serving

  • Serve the hot masala vada with coconut chutney or green chutney.
  • Enjoy it with evening tea.
