Mahindra recently unveiled the BE 6e and XEV 9e electric SUVs, both based on the brand’s advanced INGLO platform. Despite sharing key technologies and features, the two models stand apart with their distinct designs and styling. These SUVs are part of separate sub-families, showcasing Mahindra’s strategy to diversify its electric lineup. Here’s a closer look at how the BE 6e and XEV 9e compare.

In comparison, the BE 6e is more compact at 4371 mm in length, 1627 mm in height, and has a similar ground clearance of 207 mm (222 mm at the battery). Both SUVs share the same width of 1907 mm and come equipped with standard 245/55 R19 wheels, with an optional upgrade to 245/50 R20 wheels for added versatility.

The Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e electric SUVs share similar powertrain configurations, offering two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Both models are rear-wheel drive (RWD), delivering power outputs of 170 kW with the smaller battery and 210 kW with the larger one, paired with a consistent torque of 380 Nm across all variants.
In terms of range, the BE 6e offers a certified range of up to 535 km and 682 km for the 59 kWh and 79 kWh versions, respectively. The XEV 9e slightly edges ahead with ranges of 542 km and 656 km for the respective battery packs. Charging capabilities are identical for both models, supporting up to 11 kW AC charging and DC fast charging speeds of up to 140 kW for the 59 kWh battery and 175 kW for the 79 kWh version.

Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e interiors cater to different needs. The XEV 9e adopts a family-friendly design with a wide dashboard panel featuring three screens, including one for the front passenger. In contrast, the BE 6e offers a sporty, driver-centric layout inspired by fighter jets, with a compact panoramic display for the instrument cluster and central touchscreen. It also includes unique elements like a jet-inspired gear selector and overhead switches. These differences highlight the BE 6e’s sporty appeal and the XEV 9e’s focus on practicality and shared usability.

Mahindra has announced the prices for the entry-level Pack One trim of its BE 6e and XEV 9e electric SUVs, starting at Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, both featuring the 59 kWh battery. Higher trims, including Pack Two and Pack Three, will also be available, but it remains uncertain whether both battery options will be offered across all variants.
