Residents in certain parts of Thane will have to endure a brief power outage as part of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) metro project. Critical electrical infrastructure work is set to be carried out to relocate four major power lines: the 220 kV Kharbav-Kolshet, 220 kV Roma-Kolshet, 100 kV Padgha-Kolshet, and 100 kV Vasai-Kolshet. This relocation will result in a temporary disruption of electricity supply from the Kolshet Patlipada substation managed by Mahavitaran, said a statement issued by Mahavitaran on Wednesday.

The planned power outage is scheduled for one hour, beginning at midnight on Friday to 1:00 am on Saturday. Several areas within the Wagle Estate division of Mahavitaran in Thane city will be affected. The impacted localities include Vasant Vihar, MHADA, Lokpuram, Dharmaveer Nagar, Lok Upvan, Nalpada, Gandhi Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Hiranandani Meadows, Garden Estate, Hill Garden, Kothari, Hyde Park, Neelkanth, Tikuji-ni-Wadi Road, Manpada, Brahmand, Hiranandani Estate, Patlipada, Samata Nagar, Dongripada, Waghbil Naka, Kavesar, Anand Nagar, Lodha, Kasarvadavli, Haware City, and Owale.

“We urge residents and businesses in these areas to cooperate during the scheduled outage and make necessary arrangements to minimize inconvenience. The work is being undertaken to facilitate the metro project and improve the reliability of the infrastructure in the long term. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and remain patient as the project progresses to enhance urban connectivity and services in the city,” an officer from Mahavitaran said.
