While celebrating Gudi Padwa, a couple clicked a photo with a beautifully decorated Gudi in the background. When they asked AI to turn this photo into the Ghibli style, something went wrong. ChatGPT couldn’t recognise and recreate Gudi, which was touched with Haldi and Kumkum as part of festive rituals.
The AI replaced the ‘Kalash’ (sacred pot) placed on the top of the Gudi with a face resembling Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi.
The Ghibli-style image of the Maharashtrian couple, set in the backdrop of the Gudi Padwa celebration, appeared to feature Gandhi Ji.
In an Instagram post, the couple shared both the original and the AI-generated Ghibli version of the selfie. The post was hilariously captioned, “Ghibli trend gone wrong. Gudi became Gandhi Ji”.
