Importance of Mahashivaratri
The day of Mahashivaratri is considered special for the worship of Mahadev, the god of Gods. This festival is celebrated every year on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. This year, Mahashivaratri will be held on 26 February 2025 with special auspicious yogas. According to religious beliefs, Lord Bholenath and Mother Parvati were married on this day. Worshiping Shiva-Gauri with true reverence on Mahashivaratri fulfills all the wishes of the seeker, and happiness and prosperity comes in life.

Date of Mahashivaratri
According to Drik Panchang, this year the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Falgun month will begin on February 26 at 11:08 am and it will end on February 27 at 08:54 am. On this day, Shiva is worshiped during Nishita period, so Mahashivaratri will be celebrated on 26 February 2025.
