The Maharashtra government has appointed M/s IQVIA Consulting & Information Services India Pvt. Ltd. (IQVIA) as a consultant for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (COE) and the preparation of a feasibility report for a government medical college. The decision was formalised through a government resolution issued on Wednesday.
According to official documents, IQVIA’s appointment was previously approved in a resolution dated 25th July 2024. However, the initial resolution specified the annual expenditure for the project as ₹20.79 crore, without clarifying that the amount was exclusive of taxes. In response, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) submitted a proposal seeking an amendment to explicitly state that the expenditure is tax-exclusive.
The revised resolution confirms that the annual expenditure of ₹20.79 crore will be funded from the ₹1,200 crore Policy-Based Lending (PBL) allocation provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for strategic reforms.
The directive was issued under the authority of the Governor of Maharashtra and signed by Additional Secretary Sudhir Jaya Shetty.
Officials from the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, the Accountant General’s office, the Asian Development Bank, and IQVIA have been notified of the revised government order.
