Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Unfurls National Flag At Varsha Bungalow; Attends Parade At Shivaji Park

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis proudly unfurled the national flag at Varsha Bungalow in Mumbai on Sunday, on the ocassion of Republic Day, marking a solemn and patriotic moment. The ceremony took place at 8:30 am on January 26, 2025, reflecting his respect for the nation and its democratic values.

R-Day Parade At Shivaji Park

After the flag-hoisting at his official residence, Fadnavis attended the Republic Day parade at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai. The event, presided over by Governor CP Radhakrishnan, featured an official flag-unfurling ceremony, which was attended by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Addressing the Republic Day function at the Shivaji Park in Mumbai, the governor also said Maharashtra stands first in the country in attracting the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

“I appeal to all to resolve to form a new and strong Maharashtra. We must all work together to make our dream of one trillion dollar economy, a reality,” he said.

Under the state government’s flagship Ladki Bahin scheme, touted to have played a major role in the BJP-led Mahayuti’s win the assembly polls last year, the eligible women are provided Rs 1,500 per month.

The governor said nearly 2.46 crore women have been given the benefit of about Rs 21,000 crore from July to December 2024 under the scheme, implemented for their economic independence, ameliorating their health and strengthening their decision-making role.

Fadnavis also extended his Republic Day greetings on social media, sharing a message of unity and commitment to the nation’s principles. In his post, he wrote, “Greetings to everyone on Republic Day! Today, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of our Constitution and the values that bind us as the world’s largest democracy.”
