Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday reviewed plans for the 2027 Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik.

The meeting was attended by Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, officials from 38 departments, general manager of Central Railway, and heads of various agencies.

The discussions centred on enhancing infrastructure, improving traffic management, and ensuring better facilities for devotees during the festival.

“The last Nashik Kumbh was safe and successful, but this time, we aim to make it even better. Since Nashik has limited space, extensive preparations are being made. The Maharashtra government had sent 25 officials to study the Prayagraj Kumbh arrangements, and now officials from Uttar Pradesh will visit Nashik to help improve the event,” Mahajan said after the meeting.

Between 12 and 14 crore devotees are expected at the Simhastha Kumbh, which was last held in 2015-16.
