A large number of babas and sages and saints have participated in the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Many of these babas have gone viral on social media. One such Baba is Abhay Singh, who is an alumnus of IIT Mumbai and is known as “IITian Baba” due to his presence in Mahakumbh. However, Juna Akhara is unhappy over the issue and has termed Abhay Singh as a “mawali” and a “vagrant”. The Akhara claims that they killed Abhay Singh and drove him away.
Mahant Dr. Karanpuri Maharaj, secretary of Juna Akhara, while talking to NDTV, said, “He was a mawali and a vagabond, not a saint. He used to stop at various places to eat food and talk nonsense on TV. He was a person of bad nature, so we killed him and drove him away. He had come to the Akhara without any guru and was roaming around just by hearing the name.”
Maharaj also said that Abhay Singh used to leave the place after eating and drinking and everyone recognized him, after which he was not allowed to come near him.
Juna Akhara claims to have expelled the IITian baba, and its chief has accused him of indiscipline and saying wrong things about the guru. The Akhara made it clear that unless Abhay Singh learns to respect the Guru, he will not get entry into the Akhara.
However, Abhay Singh says that he is not associated with any Akhara. He told that his first meeting was with Someshwar Puri Ji Maharaj of Juna Akhara in Varanasi, who inspired him to come to Mahakumbh. In the last few days, many Babas have become the topic of discussion on social media during Mahakumbh, and Abhay Singh is also one of them.
