The administration is more alert after a stampede in the Kumbh Mela area on Mauni Amavasya and hence only a limited number of devotees are being allowed to enter Prayagraj. Due to this, there has been a situation of jam for several kilometers on the roads entering Prayagraj from different districts and people have to be stuck in the jam for 8-10 hours. Since January 13, more than 40 crore devotees have taken a bath in Sangam and this figure is continuously increasing.

The road is jammed for several kilometers, even vehicles coming towards Prayagraj are returning before entering the district due to the jam. Roads are filled with vehicles. There is a huge crowd at railway stations and there is no place in trains going to Prayagraj. This is when the government has run more than 100 special trains on the Prayagraj route.

The crowd is that the Sangam railway station in Prayagraj had to be closed by 14 February. Roads going to Prayagraj via districts of Rewa, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Kanpur, Kaushambi etc. are filled with vehicles. On Sunday, Jhunsi, Naini and Phaphamau areas of Prayagraj got about 10 km long jam. Most people are trying to reach Prayagraj by private vehicles and due to this, the roads are being jammed.
Out of a total of 112 parking sites built on 7 roads in Prayagraj, only 36 parking sites are active. This is the reason that the convoy of private vehicles is moving towards Prayagraj and due to lack of parking facilities, there is a long jam on the roads. Apart from this, traffic jams are also taking place on the main highways due to the return of large number of vehicles. People trapped on the streets are appealing to the Prayagraj police to open the jam through social media.
