A large number of people have gathered in the religious city of Prayagraj. People are seen immersed in prayers, rituals and a feeling of unity. So someone seems overwhelmed by the divine atmosphere. Lakhs of devotees had started taking bath two days in advance, indicating that the 45-day Mahakumbh 2025 has witnessed more crowd than the crowd estimate set by the Uttar Pradesh government. So far 1 crore people have taken bath in Mahakumbh.
One crore devotees took bath
Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar said that so far around one crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam area on the day of the beginning of Mahakumbh 2025 and the first ‘Amrit Snan’. The crowd of devotees continues at the Sangam. Police personnel are present there. Surveillance is also being done through drones. Underwater drones have also been used for security. Till now we have not received any information of any untoward incident in Prayagraj area and state.
No untoward incident occurred – DGP
DGP Prashant Kumar further said that all our senior officers and CMO office are monitoring the situation. All the arrangements made by the Transport Department for the pilgrims coming by road are also running smoothly. There is no obstruction in traffic flow on all roads leading to Prayagraj. Whatever flaws are seen in today’s system, efforts will be made to correct them for tomorrow’s nectar bath.
Enthusiasm was seen among the devotees
Since morning, children, old people and women started coming to Sangam for bathing. His faith was so strong that even the weight of the bag on his head could not dampen his enthusiasm. Devotees were seen taking bath since morning at all the ghats including Sangam Ghat, Airavat Ghat, VIP Ghat. The young man captured this sacred moment on camera and shared it on social media.
45 crore devotees will come!
It is noteworthy that Mahakumbh is being celebrated after 12 years. More than 45 crore devotees are expected to come to this fair which will run till 26th February.
