Mahakumbh 2025: Offensive video of female devotees who bathe at Triveni Sangam last week came out on social media. The police have registered more than a dozen FIRs against 140 social media accounts for spreading misleading materials about the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Vaibhav Krishna, DIG of Mahakumbh, said that 13 FIRs have been registered against 140 social media accounts sharing misleading materials. The social media wing of the Uttar Pradesh Police has started monitoring the social media platform after the objectionable video of women pilgrims bathing at Triveni Sangam was shared on the social media platform.

Complete preparation for Shivaratri

Meanwhile, DIG Krishna said that due to the Mahashivaratri festival, a large number of devotees are expected to arrive on 26 February on the last day of Mahakumbh and the entire arrangement has been made for the festival. Traffic congestion will be avoided anywhere in the Mahakumbh region. All systems should run smoothly. He said, “No matter how the crowd, we are fully ready.”

62 crore pilgrims will come to Mahakumbh Mela

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 62 crore pilgrims have taken holy dip in the Triveni Sangam (Ganga, Yamuna and mythological Saraswati rivers) in Prayagraj. The information department of the Uttar Pradesh government said that on Sunday, about 8.7 million (87 lakh) people took a holy dip.

Crowd control measures in Ayodhya Dham

Officials managing the crowd of Mahakumbh at Ayodhya Dham railway station in Ayodhya have implemented extensive crowd control for smooth management and security. We have increased vigilance before bathing Mahashivaratri. Additional security has been deployed here, after which more than 350 personnel have been deployed. Barricades have been installed all around. DSP Yashwant Singh said that the holding area has been created and passengers are being brought here.
