Delhi has a great news for financially weak women. The registration of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana has started today, March 8. Under this scheme, women will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 every month. The main objective of this scheme is to empower women financially and improve their standard of living.

The purpose of women’s prosperity scheme

During the Delhi Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its manifesto promised that poor women of Delhi would be given ₹ 2,500 financial assistance every month. Now the government has started the registration process to fulfill this promise.

The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to economically weaker women so that they can become self -sufficient. This scheme will provide relief in self -employment, children’s education, medical aid and domestic expenses.

How to take advantage of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

To take advantage of this scheme, women will have to register online or through offline. The registration process will be completed within one and a half months, after which the list of beneficiaries will be prepared.

Application process

  1. Register – Eligible women will have to fill their registration form for the scheme.
  2. Submit documents – Aadhaar card, bank account details, income certificate and copy of ration card will have to be uploaded.
  3. Verification Process – All documents will be verified by the government.
  4. Transfer of amount – After successful verification, ₹ 2,500 will be transferred to women’s bank account every month.

Documents required for women prosperity scheme

To take advantage of the scheme, women have to submit the following documents:

1. Aadhaar card

Aadhaar card is mandatory for identification in government schemes. Aadhaar card will also be compulsory documents under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.

2. Bank Account

The amount of the scheme will be sent directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. Therefore, it is necessary to have a bank account of women. Also, it has to be ensured that the bank account is linked to Aadhaar.

3. Income Certificate

This scheme is for poor women, so women applying will have to submit income certificates. This will prove that the applicant is eligible for this scheme.

4. Ration Card

Ration card can also be an important document for eligibility verification.

Which women will not get the benefit of the scheme?

Some women are kept out of the purview of this scheme, including:

  • Women who pay income tax
  • Women working in government job (permanent or temporary)
  • Women who are taking advantage of any other government pension scheme
