After many peace efforts and negotiations between the Kauravas and the Pandavas, the Mahabharata war became unavoidable. The Pandavas made a final attempt by asking Lord Krishna only by asking for five villages, but Duryodhana did not agree on him either. This was the most terrible war in history due to Duryodhana’s persistence. This war is called ‘Mahabharata’ because it was not just a war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. In fact, many kings of the whole of India participated in this war. Not only this, many kings from northwest Afghanistan and Pakistan regions and even southern India participated in this war. But who were the 11 warriors in this fierce bloodshed who could not even touch death?
Soldiers of China, Sindh region arrive from Pakistan
When the war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas came near, messengers were sent to send messages to friends and well -wishers and get their support. In response, forces from all over India moved towards Kurukshetra. The forces came to Balik and Kamboj (present northwest Afghanistan and Pakistan) in the north, Pandya (present Tamil Nadu) in the south and Kerala, Sindhidesh (present Sindh) in the west and Angadesh and Pundra (present Bihar-Bangal) in the east. Mlechch, Yavan, China, Hun and Sakas states also sent their forces to participate in the Kurukshetra war. This makes it clear that this war was not only between the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
Who were the 11 survivors surviving after the Mahabharata?
After the war that lasted for eighteen days in Kurukshetra, only eleven warriors survived by the participating warriors. There were 8 warriors left in the Pandava side and only 3 warriors left in the Kaurava side. Five Pandavas survived in this war. Many sons of the Pandavas were sacrificed in this war. Apart from the Pandavas, two other warriors, Krishna, Satyaki and Yuyutsu, survived. Ashwatthama, Kritavarma and Kripacharya were from the Kauravas. No part of India has been untouched by the cry of widows of dead warriors. All directions across India suffered equal damage.
18 Akshauhini armies great war
When the war started, 18 Akshauhini forces had built their bases around the battlefield. Of these, Duryodhana collected eleven and Yudhishthira gathered seven Akshauhini Maani. But what does an Akshauhini army mean? ‘Akshauhini Army consists of 1,09,350 pedestrians, 21,870 chariots, 21,870 elephants and 65,610 horses.’ Each chariot would have been a charioteer and a Mahavat in each elephant, in addition to the warriors, the number of Akshauhini army would have been 2.6 lakh (2,60,000). There were 18 Akshauhini armies by joining both sides. From this it can be estimated that at least 4.7 million people from ancient India participated in the Kurukshetra war. This number also proves that the kings of the whole of India participated in the Mahabharata war.
