The controversy over the entry of Muslims regarding the organization of Mahakumbh 2025 is continuously deepening. On this issue, sharp reactions are coming from saints and mahatmas to leaders and various organizations. Now, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi has given a big statement on this controversy.

Mahakumbh on Waqf land, yet Muslims have a big heart

Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said in a video message that Mahakumbh is being organized on Waqf land in Prayagraj. He told that this land is of 54 bighas, and Muslims did not raise any objection on it. Shahabuddin said,

“We have always shown a big heart, and there are many examples of this. But Akhara Parishad and sages and saints are banning the entry of Muslims. They should also show leniency in this matter.”

Akhara Parishad proposal and controversy

4 November 2025 A resolution was passed in the meeting of Bharatiya Akhara Parishad in Prayagraj, in which it was said that only Sanatanis should be given entry in the Maha Kumbh Mela. The council said that outside elements can enter the Kumbh Mela wearing masks and this can pollute the Sanatan culture. This proposal was supported by many Hindu religious leaders.

The Council urged the government and the fair administration to be cautious regarding security in the fair. After this proposal, the controversy regarding ban on entry of Muslims in Mahakumbh has gained momentum.

“Narrow perspective will have to be given up” – Shahabuddin Razvi

Maulana Shahabuddin gave a strong reaction to this stance of Akhara Parishad and said that this narrow view is not right. He said:

“Muslims never obstructed the organization of Mahakumbh. Preparations for the entire event are being done on Waqf land, and we did not object to it. Sages and saints should also consider this issue and show big heart.”

Mahakumbh 2025: Arguments of tradition and security

Mahakumbh Mela is considered a symbol of India’s eternal culture and religious traditions. The Akhara Parishad argues that outside interference in this event may threaten the sanctity of Sanatan Dharma.
However, Maulana Shahabuddin says that Muslims always believe in maintaining religious harmony. He claims that despite the event being held on Waqf land, the Muslim community did not protest.

Impact and political controversy of the proposal

This proposal to ban the entry of Muslims in Mahakumbh has created a stir in political circles as well. This issue is related to communal harmony and religious freedom, due to which statements of various parties and leaders are coming out.
