The Maha Kumbh is one of the most revered and sacred Hindu festivals. It has evolved beyond its religious origins to become a globally recognised cultural event. The grand event began on January 13, 2025, and it will end on February 26, 2025.
To handle the large number of pilgrims, the Government of Uttar Prades has created a temporary city covering 4,000 hectares. This includes 150,000 tents, upgraded sanitation amenities, and better transportation options.
The Central Hospital of Prayagraj Mahakumbh consists of a 100-bed hospital built in Maha Kumbh, equipped with all modern treatment and facilities. The hospital is providing health facilities free of cost.
Five Jan Aushadhi centres have been established in Mahakumbh Nagar, including one in Kalagram, as part of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) by the Government of India. These centers will stay functional during the Maha Kumbh Mela.
Devotees attending Maha Kumbh can have access to essential services and information with the help of an AI-based chatbot.
The chatbot offers up-to-date information regarding parking, eateries, and hospitals within a one-kilometer distance from the user.
Better arrangements have been established to deliver the finest health services to the pilgrims arriving for a sacred bath in the Maha Kumbh. The authorities have set up 6 thousand beds across all government and private hospitals within the fair.
