Big Bash League will bring 4 new rules: Generally ICC makes rules for cricket. But sometimes some interesting rules are introduced to make the T20 leagues running around the world interesting. However, it is used only in leagues, it has nothing to do with international cricket. This has also been seen in India’s T-20 league IPL. Now some rules are being discussed for the next season of Big Bash League to be played in Australia. If this is implemented then cricket can be interesting and revolutionary changes can be seen in it.

These rules are being discussed…

Designated Hitter (DH)

The first rule that is being discussed in the Big Bash League is the Designated Hitter (DH). This is somewhat similar to the impact players used in the IPL. However, in Impact Player one player is completely replaced by another. But under the DH rule, both the teams can nominate one player each from their playing eleven only for batting. This player will not need to field.

back to back over

Apart from this, permission to bowl two overs back to back from the same end is also being considered. If the captain wishes, he can ask any bowler to bowl 12 consecutive balls from the same end.

2 batsmen will be out on one ball – double play

Currently, in cricket in general, a maximum of one batsman can be dismissed on one ball. But there is talk of changing this also in Big Bash League. The ‘double play’ rule may be introduced next season. Under this, two batsmen can be out on the same ball. Following this rule, the batsman can be run out from both ends or after one is caught or bowled, the other can be run out.

out on first throw

Another interesting change under discussion for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League is the change in the Madden Throw. Under this, if a bowler succeeds in hitting 6 dot balls continuously then the batsman will be given out. Otherwise, with a slight modification, he will be allowed to bowl one over from his quota i.e. the 5th over.

Why are these rules being discussed?

Discussions are going on with Cricket Australia regarding these rules of WBBL and BBL. According to the report, this can be done to speed up cricket as well as reduce the workload on the players.
