Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Praveen Singh will take virtual classes every Thursday of the children studying in classes 1, 2, and 3. His first virtual class was held on December 26 (Thursday). The collector introduced this innovative idea to improve the standard of education and increase the number of literate people.
He will randomly take classes of the students of classes 1, 2, and 3 of any government school. Singh will tell them which chapters they should read to improve English language and how to solve simple mathematical problems.
During the classes, he will ask them to solve problems on the black board. The parents send their children to government schools with a lot of expectations, so it is the duty of everyone in the administration to fulfill their hopes, Singh said.
According to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme, the children are taught how to understand a lesson, how to write and how to solve basic mathematical problems.
Teachers are also given tips about how to teach under this programme so that children do not take their classes to study as a burden. Singh also understood how fast children can read any language and solve mathematical problems. To understand the Ankur FLN programme, he interacted with students and teachers.
When the collector was taking class, he interacted with some teachers of primary schools in Jaunpur Babdia, Bhomda Budhni, Akabliya Bherunda, higher secondary school in Gawakhedi in Ashta and other places. Meanwhile, the collector issued a show-cause notice to a teacher for his failure to reply to questions related to the questions on FLN.
