Madhya Pradesh: SIT will investigate against Vijay Shah on Colonel Qureshi controversy

News India Live, Digital Desk: Madhya Pradesh: A few days after the Supreme Court expressed displeasure over the comments made by the Indian Army Colonel Sophia Qureshi by Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Vijay Shah, the Madhya Pradesh government on Monday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the case.

A three -member team formed by the state government includes DIG SAF Kalyan Chakraborty, Sagar Division IG Pramod Verma and Dindori SP Vahini Singh. The apex court had earlier said that the case should be investigated by IPS officers. In its order, the apex court also said that an IPS officer should join the investigation team and the officers should not have any direct connection with Madhya Pradesh.

Vijay Shah’s controversial statement on Colonel Qureshi

Earlier, state Forest Minister Vijay Shah made a controversial statement about Colonel Qureshi, a video of which went viral on social media. After the viral video, anger and protests started in the people. During the hearing, the court reprimanded the minister and said that he did not think before making comments, but later started apologizing. The Supreme Court said, “We do not want your apology. Now we will deal with it according to the law.”

Shah was under criticism when he was shown making objectionable remarks against Colonel Qureshi during a press conference on Operation Sindoor, who recently gained fame across the country with Wing Commander Vyami Singh during a press conference on Operation Sindoor.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court had also reprimanded the minister for making such remarks against Colonel Qureshi and ordered the police to register an FIR for spreading hatred against him. The minister later regretted his remarks and said that he respects the army officer.
