Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Inspired by basic development philosophy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, the state is committed to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said while speaking in the progrmame here on Thursday.
The two-day workshop has been organised by Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Madhya Pradesh State Niti Aayog.
The workshop focused on enhancing SDG monitoring frameworks, compiling environment accounts and strengthening gender statistics for data-driven decision-making at national and sub-national levels, which began from Thursday.
Around 200 officials, experts and dignitaries from across India participated in the workshop.
Chief secretary Anurag Jain emphasised the correlation between timely data and achieving development targets. He highlighted state’s gender-focused schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojna and discussed plans for a unified data platform for real-time monitoring.
UN Regional Coordinator Shombi Sharp underscored that achieving SDGs in India is pivotal for global success. He stressed the importance of disaggregated data, gender equality and climate resilience. Highlighting partnerships with GoMP and MoSPI through UN bodies like UNICEF and UNDP, he emphasised AI and data as enablers of development.
Expected outcomes from the workshop:

* Collaboration between states and central agencies to address data gaps
* Enhanced focus on gender and environmental statistics for evidence-based policymaking
