Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is now set to visit Japan on a four-day trip starting January 27. Earlier, the CM led successful engagements with industrialists in India, as well as in Germany and the UK.
During his visit, CM Yadav will meet business leaders in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe to discuss investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. He will also extend invitations for the upcoming Global Investors Summit (GIS), scheduled to take place in Bhopal on between February 24 and February 25.
This tour is a key step toward strengthening ties between Madhya Pradesh and Japan and showcasing the state’s potential as an attractive investment destination.
Key Highlights of the Japan Tour
January 28: Meetings in Tokyo
CM Yadav will arrive in Tokyo on the morning of January 28 and begin his schedule by meeting with the Friends of MP Japan team.
He will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by visiting his statue at Edogawa City’s Mahatma Gandhi Park.
The Chief Minister will then attend a roadshow at the Indian Embassy, titled Celebrating India-Japan Relationship: Madhya Pradesh, where he will discuss opportunities for investment and partnerships.
He will also have one-on-one meetings with industry leaders and participate in a networking luncheon hosted by India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George.
January 29: Business Dialogues
The MP CM will engage in individual meetings with business executives at Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel.
Later, he will visit the headquarters of prominent companies, including Bridgestone, and hold discussions with Japan’s major industry bodies, such as the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and JETRO.
The day will end with a session with Friends of MP members.
January 30: Visits to Kobe and Osaka
Traveling by Japan’s high-speed Shinkansen bullet train, the Chief Minister will visit Kobe, where he will tour Sysmex facilities and meet their leadership.
In Osaka, he will meet officials from Panasonic Energy and participate in an interactive session on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
January 31: Cultural and Industrial Insights in Kyoto
CM Yadav will visit Kyoto to explore the city’s industrial and cultural landmarks. He will hold G2G and B2G meetings to promote collaboration in key sectors.
He will return to Tokyo in the evening.
February 1: Return to India
The Chief Minister will conclude his Japan tour and return to New Delhi on February 1.
Focus Sectors for Investment
The tour aims to attract investments in key sectors, including agriculture, dairy and food processing, IT/ITeS, robotics, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles, automobiles, urban infrastructure, aerospace, defense, and tourism.
Madhya Pradesh-Japan Business Relations
Japan has been a significant trade and investment partner for Madhya Pradesh. In FY 2023-24, India-Japan trade reached USD 22.85 billion, with Madhya Pradesh contributing exports like aluminum, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.
Prominent Japanese companies like Bridgestone, Panasonic, NHK, and Komatsu are already thriving in the state. Notably, Japan will also be the Partner Country for the Global Investors Summit 2025.
This visit is expected to enhance bilateral trade, open new avenues for investment, and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position as a global industrial hub.
