LT Grade Teacher Recruitment: Big Relief for Computer and Arts Candidates, B.Ed.

A major change has been made in the new rules of LT Grade Teacher Recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. Under the new Rules, the B.Ed degree is abolished to become an assistant teacher for computer and art subject. Now in both these subjects, B.Ed will be applied only as a preferential qualification (for weightage). Thousands of candidates related to this change have been relieved.

According to the previous rules, it was necessary for the assistant teacher in computer subject to be B.Tech, BE, B.Ed with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer application. Now B.Ed will not be compulsory but if it is, additional weightage will definitely be available. In the subject also, it has been made a suitable qualification by abolishing the imperative of B.Ed for those with Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees.

However, the results of the recent recruitment exam were disappointing for the candidates of the computer subject. Only 36 candidates could succeed in the examination conducted for a total of 1667 posts. Only 30 candidates were successful on 898 posts of men category, while out of 775 posts in the women’s category, only 6 posts were filled. In this way more than 1600 posts in computer subjects remained vacant.

10,801 candidates participated in the LT Grade Teacher Recruitment Examination held on 29 July 2024, but most of the candidates failed to get minimum qualification marks. A large number of candidates are expected to be selected in the coming time from the new manual.
